Watch 10 p.m. CBS Channel 2 News Tonight – Dave Savini Reports on Krzak Rundio Gorman, Injury Attorneys Case of Autistic Child Repeatedly Struck by Bus Aide and Verbally Threatened by Bus Driver

Published on May 11, 2018 at 1:24 pm in News.

CBS Channel 2 Investigative Reporter Dave Savini will report exclusively tonight on the case of a partially verbal autistic nine-year-old boy who was repeatedly slapped and hit by a bus aide over a period of months who was given the responsibility of safely getting children to and from school.

Instead of providing a safe haven on the bus, appalling video reveals how the bus aide, who was convicted in criminal court in DuPage County, taunted and even slapped the child who was unable to communicate for months because of his autistic condition. Video also reveals how the bus driver verbally threatened to throw the child off the bus and urged the bus aide to strike him. His mother requested that video be pulled off of the bus after her son’s behavior changed, and he was terrified to get on the bus. Tapes downloaded from the bus showed how the aide, along with the school bus driver from First Student, mistreated the boy. The aide stood misdemeanor charges in DuPage County where she was found guilty on the counts she was charged with. The bus driver pled guilty to a disorderly conduct charge brought by the City of Naperville. Both were fired from the company.

Savini investigates this tragic case tonight. Krzak Rundio Gorman, Injury Attorneys along with Clifford Law Offices filed a lawsuit to get to the bottom of what occurred so it will not happen to other helpless students in the Naperville school district and elsewhere.

Be sure to turn in for all of the details tonight at 10 p.m. on Channel 2.

Philadelphia Southwest Plane Accident Turns Inward

Published on May 4, 2018 at 4:24 pm in Airplane Accidents.

On Tuesday, April 17, 2018, a Southwest jet made an emergency landing at Philadelphia International Airport after a metal fan blade broke off an engine that caused a passenger to die. The accident ended a string of 8 years without a major U.S. airliner having a fatal accident.

The fatality resulted when the fan blade flew off from the engine, causing engine failure. Engine debris hit the plane from the outside, breaking a passenger’s window. The woman seated near the window was pulled partially out of the plane before she was pulled back in by other passengers. Two medical professionals on board attempted to save her, but the woman did not survive.

The plane, a Boeing 737 bound from New York to Dallas, Texas with 149 people on board, turned toward Philadelphia and made an emergency landing after the engine failed. Several other victims suffered from minor injuries.

Do Most Hit-and-Run Drivers in Chicago Get Caught?

Published on Apr 23, 2018 at 7:10 am in Car Accidents.

Hit-and-run accidents are more common in Chicago than in many other U.S. cities. When a driver intentionally leaves the scene of a crash without providing contact information, this counts as a hit-and-run accident. This situation happens more often on our streets than most of us would like to believe.

The statistics don’t lie. Between 2005 and 2014, 41% of fatal pedestrian crashes and 22% of fatal bike accidents in Chicago involved hit-and-run drivers. In 2015 alone, there were 53 fatal bicycle and pedestrian accidents in Chicago. A whopping 28% of those fatalities involved a hit-and-run driver. New York City, another major city where you’d expect these numbers to be high, saw more pedestrian/bike fatalities in 2015—133 total—yet only 18% of those crashes involved a hit-and-run.
